Green Grids Initiative- Context
- Recently, Union Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, participated in the Ministerial session of the Green Grids Initiative-One Sun One World One Grid (GGI-OSOWOG) Northwest Europe Cooperative Event.
- He highlighted India’s target of achieving 450 GW of installed renewable energy capacity by 2030.
- He underlined that India is well on its way to achieving its Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) relating clean energy and emission reduction well ahead of the target date.

- Northwest Europe Cooperative Event: It is a two-day program for a strategic discussion on the Green Grids Initiative-One Sun One World One Grid (GGI-OSOWOG), hosted by the U.K.
- Participation: The Event saw a multi-layered dialogue between the One Sun One World One Grid (OSOWOG) initiative and the project in Northwest Europe for developing cross-border trading of renewable electricity.
