Paper I: English and English Essay

  • History of Modern India and Indian Culture – The History of Modern India includes questions on important personalities who shaped the direction of the freedom movement and social reforms. The part relating to Indian Culture‘ will cover all aspects of Indian culture from ancient to modern times.
  • Geography of India – In this part, questions will be on the physical, economic, and social geography of India.
  • Indian Polity – Questions on the Constitution of India, the Political system, and related matters.

HPSC HCS Exam Pattern 2024

The HPSC HCS Exam 2024 involves a two-stage selection process. The first stage is the Preliminary Exam, which includes objective questions on General Studies, covering both general and Haryana-specific topics, and a separate paper on the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT). Both papers in the Prelims are qualifying. Candidates who pass the Prelims will move on to the Mains Exam, which consists of descriptive answer writing.
