Paper I: English and English Essay
The purpose of this paper is to evaluate a candidate’s ability to read and understand significant discursive texts and to communicate their thoughts clearly and accurately in English. The pattern of questions will generally include:

HPSC HCS Exam Pattern 2025
The HPSC HCS Exam 2025 has two stages. The first stage is the Preliminary Exam, with objective questions on General Studies (including Haryana-specific topics) and the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT). Both papers are qualifying.
