  • Recently, the Union Agriculture Minister launched the “Kisan Bhagidari, Prathmikta Hamari” Campaign under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav (25th– 30thApril 2022).

Key Points about Kisan Bhagidari, Prathmikta Hamari Campaign 

  • About: “Kisan Bhagidari Prathmikta Hamari” campaign is being dedicated to strengthening the farming community.
  • Participation: lakhs of farmers, many MPs and other public representatives and scientists participated through fairs in 731 Krishi Vigyan Kendras and other agricultural institutions across the country.
  • Key Activities: As part of “Kisan Bhagidari Prathmikta Hamari” Krishi Mela at each KVK was organised today in association with Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA).
    • Awareness programmes on Organic Farming, Natural Farming, Startups, APMCs, e-NAM, FPOs were also organised.
    • Seminars, workshops on horticulture activities were also conducted.

About ‘Fasal Bima Pathshala’ 

  • The government will also conduct ‘Fasal Bima Pathshala’ under the ‘Kisan Bhagidari Prathmikta Campaign’ as a Jan Bhagidari movement under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
  • Union Agriculture Minister will connect with farmers in all the Implementing States across the country through specially organized ‘Fasal Bima Pathshala’ coordinated by CSC from 1 lakh locations across the country.
  • Under sprint campaign, all Implementing Insurance Companies to organize ‘PMFBY- Fasal Bima Pathshala’ at Block/GP/village on all 7 days of the campaign period with the participation of at least 100 farmers.
  • Objective: The Campaign aims to make the farmers aware of key scheme aspects of Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) like-
    • Basic scheme provisions,
    • Importance of insuring the crops and
    • How to avail scheme benefits etc. in the ongoing Kharif Season 2022.
  • Focus Areas:
    • ‘Fasal Bima Pathshala’ campaign will also facilitate farmers in getting the benefit of the PMFBY scheme.
    • The broader focus will be on the importance of PMFBY/RWBCIS (Restructured Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme) and
    • How farmers can enroll under the scheme and avail the benefit of the scheme.

    • People of India also hold within them the power and potential to enable the Prime Minister’s vision of activating India 2.0, fuelled by the spirit of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
  • Beginning of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav: The official journey of “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” commenced on 12th March 2021 which starts a 75-week countdown to our 75th anniversary of Independence.
