KPSC KAS Re-Exam Date 2024
The notifications and correction notices for the recruitment of 384 Gazetted Probationers (Group-A and Group-B) for 2023-24 will be released on 26-02-2024, 02-04-2024, 19-04-2024, and 06-07-2024. The preliminary re-examination for these posts is scheduled for 29-12-2024. No other exams are planned for this date, and if any are scheduled later, the Commission will not be responsible for rescheduling or postponing the exam.
The Karnataka CM Siddharaman announced the rescheduling of the KAS Prelims due to translation errors in the question paper from English to Kannada. The mistakes caused confusion for Kannada-medium students, and the officials responsible were relieved of their duties.

Preliminary Examination (Objective Type):
- The preliminary exam serves as the initial stage of the selection process, comprising multiple-choice questions (MCQs).
- Subjects covered may vary depending on the exam but generally include General Studies, Current Affairs, History, Geography, Science, etc.
- There are typically two papers in the preliminary exam: Paper I, which often addresses General Studies, and Paper II, focusing on Communication, Language, or an optional subject chosen by the candidate.
- There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer and +2 are awarded for every right answer.
- Both papers are of 200 marks in total and are conducted in offline mode.

- Candidates who clear the preliminary exam proceed to the main examination.
- The main exam consists of descriptive papers, with subjects and topics varying based on the specific exam.
- It usually comprises compulsory papers along with optional papers chosen by candidates.
- In total there are 9 papers.
- Essay paper + 2 Optional paper + 4 GS paper + English language + Kannada Language.
- There is no negative marking in the descriptive paper
- The maximum marks that can be obtained are 1750 marks.
