Considering women’s economic and health conditions in the state, the Maharashtra government has proposed the Mukhya Mantri Majhi Ladli Behen Yojna. This scheme aims to improve women’s health and nutrition to enhance their economic independence and strengthen their pivotal role within families.

Objective of the Majhi Ladli Behen Scheme

  • To provide adequate facilities to women and girls in the state, promoting employment.
  • Economic and social rehabilitation of women,
  • To make women self-reliant and confident.
  • To encourage the empowerment of women and girls in the state.

  • During the eligibility period, each eligible woman will receive a monthly amount of ₹1,500 through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) into their linked bank accounts. If they receive less than ₹1,500 through other central/state government schemes, the difference will be provided under this scheme, to make women self-reliant and confident.Beneficiaries:
  • Married, widowed, divorced, separated, and destitute women in Maharashtra between the ages of 21 to 60.
  • Women born outside Maharashtra but married to men domiciled in Maharashtra State present their husband’s birth certificate or school leaving certificate.

Majhi Ladli Behen Yojna Eligibility Criteria

Please read the below mentioned points to know about the eligibility criteria for Majhi Ladli Behen Yojna 

  • Women must be residents of Maharashtra.
  • They should be married, widowed, divorced, separated, or destitute.
  • They should be between the ages of 21 and 60.
  • They must have a bank account.
  • The family income should not exceed ₹2.50 lakh per annum.

Who will not be eligible for Majhi Ladli Behen Yojna

Not everyone is eligible for the Scheme, please check if you fall under these categories, you won’t be eligible for the Majhi Ladli Behen Yojna

  • Families with an annual income exceeding ₹2.50 lakh.
  • Families where a member is an income taxpayer.
  • Families with permanent government employees or contractors in government undertakings.
  • Families where a member is an MLA/MP or holds a significant government position.
  • Families owning more than five acres of land.
  • Families owning four-wheeler vehicles (except tractors).

Documents Required for Majhi ladldi Behen Scheme

  • Online application form.
  • Aadhaar card.
  • Domicile certificate or birth certificate from Maharashtra.
  • Family income certificate.
  • Bank account passbook copy.
  • Passport-size photo.
  • Ration card.
  • Declaration of adherence to scheme terms and conditions.

Implementation of Majhi Laadli Behen Yojna

  • Applications will be verified and approved by local authorities, including Anganwadi workers and officials from Gram Panchayat or Setu Seva Kendras.
  • Final approval will be given by district-level authorities.
  • Control Officer: The Commissioner of Women and Child Development, Maharashtra, Pune, will oversee the scheme.
  • Applications will be accepted online or through mobile apps/Setu Seva Kendras.
  • A temporary list of beneficiaries will be published for public review.
  • Complaints or objections will be addressed within a specified period.
  • A final list of beneficiaries will be published and displayed at various levels
  • The Women and Child Development Commissioner, Pune, will be responsible for setting up the web portal and mobile application.
  • Regular monitoring and evaluation will be conducted by state and district-level committees.

Mukhya Mantri Majhi Ladli Behen Yojna Schedule:

As recently the last date for Majhi Ladli Behen Yojna has been extended to 31st August 2024, it is important for you to learn about the timeline and the schedule, we have mentioned for your reference

  • Applications start: July 1, 2024
  • Application end date: earlier July 15 2024 but extended to 31st August 2024

  • Complaint resolution: To be notifed
  • Final list publication: To be notified
  • E-KYC completion: To be notified
  • Monthly transfers: By the 15th of each month
