• Increased participation: Over 10,000 athletes competed, representing a significant increase from the previous edition. Athletes from 28 states, 8 Union Territories, and the Services Sports Control Board participated.
• Maharashtra’s victory: After 29 years, Maharashtra emerged victorious in the medal tally, bagging 120 golds, followed by Services (81) and Haryana (62). 29 teams secured at least one gold medal, showcasing widespread success.
• First time in Goa: This marked Goa’s debut as a host state, with competitions occurring across five cities.

There wasn’t a National Game of India in 2022. However, the 36th edition, also known as Gujarat 2022, did take place between September 29th and October 12th, 2022, in the state of Gujarat.
