PM Narendra Modi US visit
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to undertake a visit to the United States from June 21-24, following an invitation from President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. Expressing his gratitude, Prime Minister Modi stated that the special invitation reflects the strength and dynamism of the partnership between the two democratic nations.
The forthcoming visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the United States is being viewed as a significant milestone in the Indo-US relationship. The visit is expected to witness the signing of various agreements aimed at enhancing cooperation in areas such as defense and critical technologies.
Prime Minister Modi has previously visited the US on six occasions since 2014, engaging with three presidents: Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and Joe Biden. However, this visit holds special significance as it marks his first State visit, a distinction reserved for America’s closest allies and friends.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on his five-day US visit on 20 June. He is scheduled to arrive at the Andrews Air Force Base in Washington at 1.30 am Indian Standard Time on June 21, where he will receive a warm welcome from a group of Indian Americans.
During his visit, PM Modi has a packed itinerary that includes meetings with top Indian American CEOs. Additionally, he will lead the celebrations for International Yoga Day at the UN headquarters on Wednesday.
This marks Prime Minister Modi’s inaugural state visit to the US. Following the Yoga Day event, he is expected to travel to Washington DC, where he will attend a private dinner hosted by US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden.
