Revised UPPSC Prelims Schedule 2024 Released, Check New Exam Date PDF

The UPPSC has rescheduled the PCS 2024 prelims exam for the fourth time. Initially, it was set for March 17, it was first postponed to 26-27 October, then to December 7-8. Due to ongoing protests in Prayagraj, the exam was further delayed. The new date comes after the Uttar Pradesh government decided to conduct the exam in a single shift. The UPPSC examination is scheduled for 22 December 2024,

UPPSC Prelims 2024 New Exam Date Out:

It is hereby informed that instead of the Combined State / Subordinate Services (M.S.) Examination-2024 which was proposed to be held on two days i.e. 07th and 08th December, the said examination will now be held on one day i.e. 22.12.2024 in two sessions (1st session 9:30 AM to 11:30 PM and 2nd session 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM).

Reason to Revise the UPPSC Prelims 2024

Thousands of students gathered at Muir Hall crossing in Prayagraj, protesting the UPPSC’s decision to hold the PCS Prelims exams over multiple days and shifts. They demanded the exams be conducted in a single shift to ensure fairness. Students also raised concerns about the controversial normalisation process, which they feared could make the results unfair due to differing levels of difficulty across shifts. Protesters held banners and chanted slogans, calling for a change in the exam schedule.

After Approval by the Authority

The new dates for the UPPSC Prelims exam declared.

• PCS Exam Change: The PCS Preliminary Exam-2024 will now be held on a single day instead of multiple shifts, following students’ demands.
• Original Schedule: The PCS exam was initially set for December 7-8 but will now be held on a single day, on 22 December 2024
• Chief Minister’s Role: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took action after student protests, directing UPPSC to hold talks and address concerns.

Students expressed happiness over the PCS exam being held on a single day, while those preparing for the RO/ARO exams remain disappointed.
