The typhoon was predicted to make landfall in the coastal regions of Guangdong and Hainan provinces on Monday night 17th July, followed by another landfall in the Guangxi region on Tuesday. Subsequently, it was expected to weaken as it moved toward Vietnam on Wednesday.
