UPSC 2022 Question Paper Prelims

The UPSC Civil Services Examination (CSE) Preliminary Stage consists of two exams, both conducted on the same day:

UPSC 2022 Prelims Paper General Studies Paper 1

The UPSC 2022 Prelims Paper 2, conducted in the second shift after the UPSC GS Paper 1, is an objective-type test comprising 80 questions with a total of 200 marks. This paper deviates slightly from General Studies Paper I, as it incorporates questions designed to evaluate candidates’ reasoning skills.

It assesses their aptitude in comprehension, analytical thinking, communication, decision-making, problem-solving, basic numeracy, and mental ability. Similar to Paper 1, there is a negative marking system in place, deducting 1/3rd of the total marks allotted for each incorrect response. However, unlike Paper 1, the nature of Paper 2 is purely qualifying. To advance to the next stage, candidates need to achieve a score of only 33% of the total marks.

UPSC 2022 Mains Question Paper PDF for Indian Language

UPSC 2022 Mains Paper A is the obligatory Indian Language Paper among the nine papers. Those appearing for the Mains exam must choose an Indian language from the list specified in the official notification by the Union Public Service Commission.
