UPSC CSE Prelims Exam 2024

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is set to conduct the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2024 on June 16, 2024. Candidates must be aware that any errors or discrepancies in encoding or filling in details on the OMR answer sheet, particularly concerning the Roll number and test booklet series code, will result in the rejection of the answer sheet. It is crucial for candidates to review the timing, dress code, do’s and don’ts, and other pertinent details before attending the examination.

UPSC CSE Prelims Exam 2024- Check Timings

The UPSC CSE Prelims will have two papers: Paper-I is scheduled from 09:30 AM to 11:30 AM, and Paper-II will occur from 02:30 PM to 04:30 PM. Entry to the examination hall will close 30 minutes before each session begins, specifically at 09:00 AM for the morning session and 02:00 PM for the afternoon session.

UPSC CSE Prelims Exam 2024- Do’s and Don’ts

Here are some do’s and don’ts for the UPSC CSE Prelims Exam 2024 which is scheduled for 16 June 2024 on Sunday. Check the table provided below:

Bring each session’s UPSC e-Admit Card printout and the original Photo Identity Card.
Do not bring valuables, costly items, or bags to the examination venue.
Preserve the e-Admit Card until the final results of the Civil Services Examination, 2024.
Do not possess or use mobile phones (even if switched off), pagers, or electronic devices.
Ensure all details (Name, Photograph, QR Code) on the e-Admit Card are correct.
Do not bring any programmable devices, storage media (pen drives, smartwatches), cameras, etc.
Contact UPSC if there are any discrepancies in the e-Admit Card details.
Do not use or possess Bluetooth devices or related accessories during the examination.
If the e-Admit Card photograph is unclear, bring a photo ID and two passport-size photographs.
Do not use pens other than Black Ball Point Pen for marking answers.
Carry a Government-issued photo ID and original Gazette notification if you have changed names.
Do not attempt to enter the examination venue after the entry closure times.
Submit an undertaking if your e-Admit Card photograph lacks a name and date or is unclear.
Do not mark answers in ways other than specified; answers not marked by Black Ball Point Pen will not be evaluated.

UPSC Prelims Exam 2024- Dress Code

For the UPSC CSE Civil Services Prelims 2024, no specific dress code is required. However, candidates should not wear valuable items to avoid the risk of loss. Simple wristwatches are allowed in the Examination Halls but watches with special features like communication devices or smartwatches are strictly prohibited and must not be brought into the examination area.
