UPSC ESE Notification 2022: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the UPSC ESE 2022 notification for recruitment to the Group A and Group B Posts. As of now, the total number of vacancies stands at 247, which the commission can increase or decrease in the future. The interested and eligible candidates can apply for the posts on or before 12 October, 2021. Eligibility
Educational Qualification
For admission to the examination, a candidate must have –
(a) obtained a degree in Engineering from a recognised University or,
(b) passed Sections A and B of the Institution Examinations of the Institution of Engineers (India); or
(c) obtained a degree/diploma in Engineering from recognised foreign University/College/, or (d) passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (India); or
(e) passed Associate Membership Examination Parts II and III/Sections A and B of the Aeronautical Society of India; or
(f) passed Graduate Membership Examination of the Institution of Electronics and Radio Engineers, London held after November, 1959
UPSC ESE Age Limit:
21 to 30 years
Recruitment Process
There will be three phases for the final recruitment of the candidates.

The candidates who qualify all the three phases will finally be called for the medical examination.
UPSC ESE Prelims Exam Pattern 2022
The ESE Prelims exam comprises of objective type questions that are divided into 2 papers.

NOTE: Prelims carry negative marking of One-third (1/3rd) of the marks for every wrong answer
Exam Pattern 2022
UPSC ESE Mains exam comprises 2 Papers where both Paper will have questions on Civil/ Mechanical/Electrical/ Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, and each will carry 300 Marks.
Total time allotted is 3 hours for each paper.
NOTE: The answers must be written in English language only. The question papers will be set in English language only.
UPSC ESE Personality Test
Those who will qualify in the prelims and mains exam will be called for 3rd phase, which is the personality test or the interview.
The cumulative marks obtained by a candidate would determine their final ranking in the examination.
