UPSC Geo-Scientist 2024: To register for UPSC Geo-Scientist 2024, you can follow the steps outlined below.

Step 3. From the application list “click on Part I” Combined Geo-Scientist Pre Examination.

- For those interested in the Junior Hydrogeologist (Scientist B) position in the central Ministry of Water Resources, the minimum age requirement is 21 years, and the maximum age allowed is 35 year

Aspirants must have an M.Sc. degree in Applied Chemistry or Chemistry or else Analytical Chemistry. - Junior Hydrogeologist (Scientist B) Group ‘A’
Aspirants must hold a Master’s degree in Geology/ Marine Geology/ Applied Geology or a Master’s in Hydrogeology.
UPSC Geo-Scientist Selection Process
There are three stages in the UPSC Geo-Scientist Recruitment Selection process:
- Stage I: Computer-Based Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) having two papers for selection of the candidates for the Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination. Marks secured in the Preliminary Examination will be counted for deciding the final merit;
- Stage II: Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination (Descriptive Type) having three papers for the selection of candidates for the Personality Test (Stage III). Marks secured in the Main Examination will be counted for deciding the final merit; and
- Stage-III: Personality Test/Interview
Note that the Objective Type Exam will have a one-third negative marking for each wrong answer
