UPSC Public Prosecutor Recruitment Eligibility Criteria
The UPSC Public Prosecutor eligibility criteria are as follows:
Educational Qualifications:
- A degree in Law from a recognized university.
- Basic knowledge of word processing on a computer and the internet.
Experience:
- Seven years of practice as an Advocate in conducting criminal cases, OR
- Seven years of experience in the State Judicial Service or Legal Department of the State or Central Government.
Note:
- The UPSC has the discretion to relax the qualifications for candidates who are otherwise well qualified, and this relaxation will be recorded in writing.
- The experience requirement can be relaxed by the UPSC for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) or Scheduled Tribes (ST) if they are not available in sufficient numbers to fill the reserved vacancies. The relaxation will be recorded in writing if deemed necessary by the UPSC at any stage of the selection process.
