It holds special significance as it marks the birth anniversary of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, who was born on October 15, 1931, in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu (formerly known as Madras). Dr. Kalam, widely recognized as the “Missile Man of India,” was a prominent aerospace scientist and educator who contributed his expertise to organizations like the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO), and the Indian Air Force.

At the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), he directed the Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP), playing a pivotal role in the development of missiles such as Prithvi, Agni, Trishul, Akash, and Nag. In 2002, he was elected as the President of the Republic of India. His exceptional contributions as a scientific adviser to the Indian government were acknowledged with the prestigious awards, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan. Tragically, on July 27, 2015, Dr. Kalam suffered a sudden heart attack and passed away.
