CTET 2024 Exam

The CTET exam is conducted in two shifts. For the December 2024 session, the CTET exam took place on a single day. CTET Paper 1, which is intended for Primary Teachers (Classes 1-5), was scheduled from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, while CTET Paper 2, designed for Upper Primary Teachers (Classes 6-8), took place from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. CTET 2024 Application Form

The CTET 2024 Application Form will be released by the CBSE after the release of the notification for the December Session. As the CTET Exam 2024 is conducted twice a year, candidates get two opportunities in a single year. The application forms are available through online mode on the official website of CBSE for the CTET Exam. Candidates must submit their complete and accurately filled online application forms within the stipulated time frame as late applications, incomplete or inaccurate applications will be rejected by the competent authorities.

CTET 2024 Application Fee

Candidates must submit the Application Fees for CTET December 2024 through online mode only. The application fee for the CTET 2024 exam depends on the number of papers selected and the candidate's category. For those choosing only one paper, the fee is Rs. 1,000 for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 500 for SC/ST/Differently Abled Person candidates.

If an applicant opts for both papers, the fee increases to Rs. 1,200 for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 600 for SC/ST/Differently Abled Person candidates. This fee structure ensures that candidates from various backgrounds are appropriately charged for their CTET 2024 application.

CTET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has announced a notification regarding the revised eligibility criteria for CTET for candidates who are pursuing a Teacher Training Course (TTC). As per the notification, candidates who are pursuing TTC will now be eligible to apply for the CTET Exam.

The candidate must go through the Central Teacher Eligibility Test 2024 Eligibility Criteria before filling out the CTET  Online application form. Here we are sharing the CTET Eligibility for Primary and Upper Primary level CTET exams.

CTET 2024 Age Limit

Candidates aiming for teaching positions in Classes I-V (Primary Stage) or Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage) must be at least 18 years old. However, there is no upper age limit for applicants in either category. Thus, candidates at phase of their life can apply for CTET once they are 18 years plus.

CTET Age Reservation

There are no seat reservations for candidates from reserved categories (Scheduled Cast/ Scheduled Tribe/Other Backward Class and PwD). However, they are provided with a 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks for the CTET Exam.

CTET 2024 Educational Qualification

For CTET Paper I (for teaching in Classes I-V), candidates can qualify with a Senior Secondary or Graduation degree coupled with relevant diplomas in Elementary or Special Education. Paper II (for teaching in Classes VI-VIII) requires candidates to have a Senior Secondary or Graduation degree, often combined with a Bachelor in Education or integrated education programs. The specific educational requirements vary slightly depending on the candidate’s level of education and the particular teaching stage they aim to qualify for.

CTET Selection Process

The CTET (Central Teacher Eligibility Test) selection process primarily involves a written examination consisting of two papers. Paper I is for candidates aspiring to teach Classes I-V (Primary Stage), and Paper II is for those aiming to teach Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage). Candidates can choose to appear for either one or both papers depending on their eligibility and teaching preferences.

The exam is conducted in a multiple-choice format, with each paper comprising 150 questions, carrying one mark each. To qualify, candidates must score a minimum of 60% (relaxed for reserved categories). Successful candidates are awarded a CTET certificate, which is a mandatory qualification for teaching positions in schools under the central government and many private institutions.

CTET 2024 Exam Pattern

As per the CTET Exam Pattern 2024, there will be two papers i.e. CTET Paper 1 & CTET Paper 2.

  • Paper-I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
  • Paper II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

Note: A person who intends to teach for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both papers (Paper I and Paper II).

Note: Mathematics & Science- 30 MCQs each -60 Marks Or Social Studies/Social Science -60 MCQs -60 Marks (for Social Studies/Social Science teacher). There is no penalty for any wrong answers.

CTET 2024 Syllabus Paper 1 & 2

The new CTET 2024  Syllabus has been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education on their official website. The CTET 2024 syllabus is based on the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2005 and the Right to Education Act (RTE) 2009. CTET 2024 Cut-Off

CTET 2024 Off Marks is 60% marks for the general category candidates. Therefore, the candidates belonging to the general category must score 90 marks out of a total of 150 marks.

The CTET 2024 Off Marks for the OBC category/ SC category/ ST category is 55% marks. In other words, candidates belonging to the OBC category, SC category, and ST category must secure 82 marks out of a total of 150 marks to become CTET qualified.

CTET 2024 Exam Centre
