Overview

The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) conducts the Additional Private Secretary (APS) examination to recruit candidates for the position of Additional Private Secretary in various departments of the Uttarakhand government. Here is an overview of the exam:

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: A candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university.
Typing Skill: Candidates must have a typing speed of 80 words per minute in English shorthand and 35 words per minute in Hindi typing.
Age Limit: Generally, the age limit is between 18 to 42 years. Age relaxation is provided for reserved categories as per government rules.

The UKPSC APS exam consists of the following stages:

Preliminary Examination

Type: Objective type
Duration: 3 hours
Subjects: General Studies, General Intelligence, General Hindi, and General English
Marks: 150 marks

Main Examination

Type: Descriptive type
Subjects:
- General Studies: 100 marks
- General Hindi: 50 marks
- General English: 50 marks
Duration: 3 hours for each subject

Typing Test

Hindi Typing: 35 words per minute
English Shorthand: 80 words per minute

Interview

The interview is conducted to assess the personality and suitability of the candidate for the position.
