Railway Recruitment Board has released the date for revised Result for RRB ALP First Stage CBT. Candidates can check the Revised Result from the link given below. Railway ALP Result for Stage 2 CBT will be released after the examination for the same has been concluded. Candidates who have successfully cleared Stage 1 CBT will be permitted to give Stage 2 of Railway Recruitment 2018 Exam. Result for Stage 2 CBT will will be released after the examination for the same will be concluded.

Railway ALP 2018 Admit Card

Railway ALP Second Stage CBT Admit Card has been finally released. ALP Second Stage CBT is scheduled from 21st to 23rd January 2019. Candidates will be able to download RRB ALP Call Letter for Second Stage CBT from the link mentioned below.

Refund of Examination Fee: ALP Stage 1


The Application Fee Refund for Stage 1 RRB ALP Exam that was initiated by Railway Recruitment Board will be completed by 20th December 2018. The link for correction of Bank Accounts for the failed refund transaction will open again from 21st December 2018. All candidates whose transaction failed can change their Account Number from 21st December 2018. The Refund amount is Rs. 350/- (for Unreserved Category) & Rs. 250/- (for Reserved Category). Railway ALP 2018 Exam Dates Postponed

RRB ALP Second Stage CBT Exam Dates have been postponed. Second Stage CBT will now be conducted on 21st, 22nd and 23rd January 2019. Earlier the exam was scheduled on 24th December 2018. The complete schedule of Railway Exam 2018 is as follows:

Initially, Railway Recruitment Board announced a total of 26,502 vacancies which was increased to 60,000. But, according to the recent notice released by Railway Recruitment Board, the vacancy has again increased to 64,371. Railway ALP 2018 Exam Pattern

For the Post of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP)

  • First Stage of CBT
  • Second Stage of CBT
  • Computer Based Aptitude Test
  • Document Verification and Empanelling of Candidates

For the post of Technician

  • First Stage of CBT
  • Second Stage of CBT

Let's have a look at both these stages of CBT in detail.

First stage of CBT

  • Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories : UR -40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST -25%.
  • Comprises of multiple-choice objective type questions: bilingual (Hindi/English)
  • Negative Marking will be applicable. For every wrong answer 1/3 marks will be deducted. Total number of candidates to be shortlisted for second stage shall be 15 times the community wise total vacancy of ALP and Technician Posts notified against the RRB as per their merit in First Stage CBT.

  • Candidates require a minimum score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify. This is applicable to all candidates and no relaxation is permissible.
  • There will be no negative marking in Computer Based AT.
  • The ALP merit list will be made only from amongst the candidates qualifying in the Aptitude Test, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in the Part A of Second Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in Computer Based AT

Based on the performance of candidates in Part Aof the Second Stage CBT subject to their qualifying the Part B of Second Stage CBT

ALP POST

Based on the performance of candidates in both Part A of the Second Stage CBT and Computer Based AT subject to their qualifying the Part B of Second Stage CBT.

Note: Candidates attempting to submit application more than once will be disqualified or debarred from the examination.

Railway ALP 2018 Apply Online

The online application for Railway Recruitment 2018 for the post of ALP and Technicians commenced from 3rd February 2018. The Online Application Process ended on 31st March 2018

To apply for both the posts - ALP & Technicians, a single application is to be submitted by all the candidates who wish to appear for the Railway Exam 2018.

Railway ALP 2018 Application Fee

The Online Application window for Railway Recruitment started from 3rd February 2018 and will end on 31st March 2018. Candidates need to pay Rs. 500/- as application fee (UR & OBC) for Railway Recruitment 2018. Candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ Ex-Serviceman/ PWDs/ Female/ Transgender/ Minorities/ Economically backward class are needed to pay Rs. 250/- as application fee.

It is now been declared by the Government that the application fee of Rs. 400/- will be refunded for Unreserved Candidates appearing for Railway Recruitment Exam and the complete exam fee of Rs. 250/- will be refunded for candidates belonging to reserved category.

Railway ALP 2018 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria to appear for Railway Recruitment 2018 exam revolves around two pre-requisites:

  • Candidates need to hold Degree, Diploma and HSC (10+2) having eligibility for the posts of ALP and their engineering discipline(Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering , Mechanical Engineering ,Automobile Engineering with the combination of various streams in the respective Engineering Traits): post of Assistant Loco Pilot
  • Those, candidates who have passed out with Physics and Maths in 12th Standard are eligible for Technician Grade III Signal and Technician Grade III Telecommunication posts namely Post 70 and Post 71 respectively.
  • A candidate is needed to be: A citizen of India, A subject of Nepal, A subject of Bhutan, A Tibetan Refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of settling permanently in India or a person of Indian origin who migrated to India from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, Vietnam and have the intention of settling permanently in India.
